Missionary visit November 16: Missionary, Lori Nied, (daughter of sainted Gen Nied, former Concordia Office staff) will come to Bible Class on Sunday, November 16 to tell us what God doing in this most-western African country of Senegal.
Fellowship at Concordia and beyond – All praise to our Lord and Savior who has blessed our community with Concordia Lutheran Church over the past 40 years. What a wonderful time we had last week celebrating being in this building. There was a great turn out and we had approximately 85 people in attendance. I want to thank each and every one of you. Your outpouring of support was a great gift to us all. The music filled my soul. And we can’t forget the Korean pears what Woohee brought for our enjoyment.
MOSAIC - November 30th deadline - we have 2 weeks people!!
You may have heard of Mosaic. Mosaic stands alongside people with intellectual disabilities to bring awareness to issues that affect their lives. There are three to five individuals who live in a group setting. We have supported them in the past years with our monetary donations throughout the year and with wrapped presents and gift cards during the Christmas season. We are again asking for your help this year.
The needs are great. This year we have been asked to help support the wishes of 4 individuals who live in the Grubb Road home. Gifts should be wrapped with the name of the individual along with the name of the person giving the gift. A donation form may be completed for tax purposes to be included with gifts. $25.00 Gift Cards are also being requested. Any donation you would like to put toward these gift cards would be most appreciated – even if $5. Anything is given is to God’s glory. Please put your cash donation in your offering envelope marked Mosaic. All cash will go toward the purchase of gift cards.
The Grubb Home is also requesting Hygiene Kits which include:
Shampoo , Conditioner, Body Wash, Tooth Paste, Tooth brushes, Deodorant
Please place your donations in the marked bins.
ADOPT-A-FAMILY - December 14th deadline (4 weeks to the deadline)
Another endeavor we are asking your help is for Adopt-A-Family through the Ministry of Caring. Many children reside in homeless shelters and are in need of one item that could bring a smile to their faces. Please help yourself to a slip of paper from the poster to help bring the wishes of our youngest people come true. Your help is important. Anything you can provide is a blessing to our community.
So when you are out shopping (or shopping on line), think of Mosaic and Adopt-A-Family and their needs.
God's blessings to you all Lilly Derrickson 302-220-0258

+EDUCATION+
Therefore whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup. 1 Cor 11:23-24 esv.org
Martin Luther wrote his “Christian Questions with Their Answers Prepared by Dr. Martin Luther for those who intend to go to the Sacrament.”
“1. Do you believe you are a sinner? Yes, I believe it. I am a sinner.”
“3. Are you sorry for your sins? Yes, I am sorry that I have sinned against God.”

+SERVICE+
EMMANUEL DINING ROOM
Faithful Servants, Jesus tells us in Luke’s Gospel that “when you give a banquet, invite the poor and disadvantaged, and you will be blessed.” I read in a recent devotion by Max Lucado that it is no accident that “hospitality” and “hospital” come from the same Latin word. And both lead to the same result: HEALING. Your casseroles and brownies send a clear message to the 162 hungry folks we fed at EDR on Monday, October 27th - and every month - that “you matter to me and to God.”
Thanks to the cooks and bakers and to Trudy Fletcher and Kathee Butler for serving.
And thanks to all for allowing your hospitality to be the healing hospital for the poor and hungry of Wilmington.
***** For the week of Thanksgiving, November 2025, EDR has asked, as we did last year at Thanksgiving, if we could provide peanut butter and jelly sandwiches - That’s grape jelly with peanut butter on white bread and each sandwich individually bagged or wrapped. Please consider providing some sandwiches next month. More info to come.
God’s blessings,
George and Dale
