From Cliff Kraft–January 2022
ORPHAN GRAIN TRAIN MID ATLANTIC BRANCH
“I will not leave you as orphans, I will come to you” John 14:18
What are you looking forward to? There is a poem that starts “As I pause to think about something that sets some men apart, it seems to me that goals would be the place to start”.
We wish to thank all of you who contributed to our Matching Grant fund raising program. With your gracious gifts we were able to more than double the $10,000 Matching Grant. This will allow for many shipments to those in need. To God alone be the glory!
This past year we were blessed to ship four forty foot containers overseas in addition to domestic loads to Kentucky and New Orleans. We pray that in 2022 we might be able to ship five containers plus additional items domestically. It appears that this can be accomplished by the addition of a few more volunteers to sort, pack, and ship.
The Kentucky/Tennessee tornados have added an additional opportunity to help those in need. We are working with contacts in Southeastern Ohio and Kentucky awaiting word as to what is most needed and where and how to get it to the optimum destination. The First Responder’s must first clear debris and downed lines before we can start to supply needed items. Some types of food in quantities, building materials, tools, and other equipment will be needed as homes are rebuilt and refurbished. This will be a long term project and will probably take years to complete.
In the meantime!
Southern Chester County Chamber of Commerce is bringing a number of their members to the warehouse on Friday, January 7th, to sort and pack in the warehouse.
On Saturday, January 8th, students of the Leo Club of the Avon Grove Charter School have tentatively decided to spend a large portion of the morning volunteering for our cause.
The local Rotary club visited us pre-coved and will be returning on Saturday, January 22nd, to aid in our processing clothes and other items.
Two of the local schools are interested in volunteer time for Community Service requirements. We have worked with some of them in the past and find it very exciting to have the future generation wanting to do service time.
With the above start for the New Year our goal to ship additional containers and increase our support domestically is looking very good. It is only by the grace of God that we will be able to continue in this manner. He has brought us this far with an awesome warehouse, loyal volunteers, items to process and ship, and funds to ship to those in need.
With all that said, we can use additional volunteers at our Wednesday packing from 10am to 2:30pm and the 2nd and 4th Saturdays from 9am to 1:30pm, 8 Federal Rd, West Grove, PA
It’s a great group of people doing His work in a bright, comfortable atmosphere. Try it, you will like it!
